Once you know, you've got your interview lined up, don't worry we will prepare you for everything. They will look at your CV, they will look at your application form. They'll ask you questions about your background, your achievements, your motivation for wanting to join the upper house. They might also throw in a few more general questions. Not because they're looking to catch you out or anything, but they want to know that you have a sensible, balanced opinion on some of the topical issues of the day. So the sorts of questions they've asked in the past, the things like: How do you think Boris handled Brexit? How do you think the government handled Covid? Now, if you're being interviewed by, say, three peers and one's a labour peer, one's conservative, one's a crossbencher, they'll all have a different opinion on how Boris handled Brexit. So you won't please them all. It's just a case of having a sensible, balanced view, even if it's not aligned to their own opinions.
