A strategic approach
We scheduled a strategy meeting with Stephen, who also assigned an elite team at RSE headquarters to work hand in glove with us.

We began with a series of calls and research sessions, brought detailed attention to match the KAE’s demanding entry criteria, and wrote a vibrant entry showcasing the company’s impressive achievements.
To demonstrate the real-world impact of RSE’s work, we highlighted the example of a water-treatment plant near Bridgnorth in Shropshire that treats 210 million litres of high-quality water every day to provide a fresh water supply to 700,000 customers.
To provide data to reassure the judges, we demonstrated how RSE’s clients can typically save up to 20% in design and installation costs when they commission a water-treatment plant using the m-CTU®. They can also make >30% in carbon savings (through the use of low-carbon and recycled materials) and benefit from a 50% reduction in construction schedules compared to traditional build techniques.
Numbers like these are pivotal to compiling a compelling KAE entry.
So was the fact that RSE reinvests 10% of yearly profits into developing transformative, sustainable water-treatment technologies to protect the long-term
security of the UK’s water supply and the natural environment.
We also chose the best quotes from a bank of strong testimonials from clients, focusing on those showing how RSE delivers quantifiable results which benefit its
clients, ordinary consumers and the UK at large.
Doing the right thing
It’s not enough to have a commercially successful innovative product or service to win the KAE. It is also important to prove that a business is “doing the right thing.” This means that it is a benevolent and considerate member of the community, that it treats its workforce well, that it takes sustainable measures to combat climate change and care for the environment, and that it deals fairly with suppliers.
We worked closely with RSE to highlight its charity work, its Net Zero ambitions for 2030 (well ahead of UK government targets), as well as its graduate programme, skills development and staff Wellbeing Champions.
Another important aspect of a successful KAE entry is to show how a business has overcome challenges and responded to national and global economic uncertainty in recent years. At Awards Intelligence we have the experience to guide our clients to explain how they have done just that.
The result
Stephen and the RSE team were delighted when the news came through that they’d won – all the more so because the KAE has the personal imprimatur of His Majesty King Charles III.
“Winning the King’s Award for Enterprise is an outstanding achievement for RSE and a significant milestone in our journey. The expert guidance, insights, and
professionalism from the team at Awards Intelligence made all the difference. They clearly understood our unique story, helping us articulate our achievements in a compelling way. I’d absolutely recommend Awards Intelligence to any organisation aspiring for such prestigious recognition.”
