Picking the right category to enter is the first step of the Queen’s Awards process, and it can make all the difference in how far your entry gets in the competition.
There are four categories available to enter: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity, and each of these has 2 sub-categories to choose from - Outstanding Achievement and Continuous Achievement.
You may also enter more than one category if your business achievements span a variety of areas. Our Queen’s Awards experts will help you understand what each of the categories requires and make sure you are in the right place for a strong entry before you begin the entry process.
There are no specific numbers of awards allocated - the judges can award as many businesses they feel meet the requirements and benchmarks in that year’s competition. However in general the numbers of awards given out on average over the last few years are as follows:
Sustainable Development: Approximately 10
Innovation: Approximately 65
International Trade: Approximately 150
Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility: Approximately 6
The next round of the competition will open on 1st May 2019, and closes at noon on 10th September 2019.

OUR CLIENTS' THOUGHTS
WHY SHOULD YOU APPOINT AWARDS INTELLIGENCE?
An Awards Intelligence nomination is special. Not only will we save you a great deal of time and hassle, our experts will significantly increase the nominee's chances of success.
Honours Selection Committees judge a candidate's merits based on the nomination put forward. Our nominations are not simply an extended CV, a list of educational achievements, appointments, awards or posts, or a job description. Poor nominations often list these things, and a frequent complaint from the Committees judging the nominations is that the person recommended is "doing no more than their paid job".
Instead, our nominations define what is special about the candidates' achievements and show accurately, memorably and persuasively exactly how and where they have made a difference.
