Q: What title will I get if I join the House of Lords?
Members of the House of Lords are often referred to as peers. House of Lords titles are simple and can be broken down into two categories:
- A male peer has the title of Lord
- A female peer is a Baroness
What Is the wife of a lord called?
The wife of a Lord can use the title of Lady. Interestingly, the husband of a Baroness does not receive a title.
A tad unfair in these times of equality and I’m sure it would cause a big fuss if it were the other way around! Find out more about the House of Lords.
