Enjoy this unique behind-the-scenes glimpse at an Investiture ceremony to find out what really happens when Queen’s honours are given out. Every outstanding individual who is named on the New Years or Birthday Honours List is invited to an Investiture to receive their medal, making a lifetime memory for the deserving recipients of an honour.
Personal highlights of the day include an interview with Swasie Turner MBE. Swasie is a former Police Officer who lost his right leg in the line of duty and turned to raising money for charity after the loss of his wife to cancer. Swasie has gone on to achieve incredible feats in his wheelchair, covering thousands of miles to raise important funds for charity and he continues to raise money today. Find out his thoughts and reactions on the day he received his honour here.
The same ceremony also saw Sir Thomas Hunter awarded a knighthood for his services to entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Sir Thomas, who is well known for his contributions across the business world and particularly in Scotland, shares his feelings and emotions in an interview here.
