Nitin Dahad started his working life as a technology journalist and worked his way through various corporate roles in the global technology sector. He then helped grow a small technology start-up business to a very successful exit and has applied his entrepreneurial skills to a number of emerging businesses. These experiences have proved invaluable to Nitin in his public appointment as a non-executive board member of the East of England Development Agency, where he is helping bring business and community groups together to grow the regional economy.

"My route to the public sector was through my desire to enable networking and support opportunities. Having the responsibility of a public appointment means you can influence change whether it is local or national. Public appointments are usually part-time roles; I also hold a second position on the governing board of a university which has helped raise my profile in the region. I hope I can inspire others to become involved, using their skills to improve public services."

It was working for oil companies in the private sector that Julie originally gained the expertise she now employs to improve public services.

"Boards need to be representative of the people they are serving. Don’t overlook the life skills you have. We can learn from other industries and cultures about how to do things better. My public appointment has taught me new management skills and has improved my networking skills. The work has been varied – from attending football matches and safety advisory group meetings with the inspectors to looking at the way that safety certificates are issued – and, while many people might not be aware such work goes on, the implications are huge for the public."

“I like to perform public roles which contribute towards the creation of a fairer, more diverse society – an ideal close to my heart."

GLOBAL BRAND LEADER

Bespoke Awards Partnership Investigation

A large global brand was looking for the right awards to partner for their onward marketing drive.

Recognising that there are thousands of potential awards to investigate and organisers to contact, the brand instructed Awards Intelligence to conduct a bespoke research analysis of the national and international awards landscape.

The results were outstanding; from the brand’s individual brief, AI investigated the sponsorship potential, benefits and reach of over 1500 awards. After analysing the results, a report was compiled detailing the top 50 awards that best met the requirements of the brand.

The brand has now engaged with a selection of awards organisers in mutually beneficial partnerships. As well as saving a great deal of time, they have reaped the long-term benefits of a thorough and comprehensive expert investigation.

NATIONAL PR & COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY

Recognising our client's successes through the AI partnership service

As one of the largest PR and Communications organisations in the UK, we are privileged to manage the ongoing reputations of a large number of high-profile clients and organisations.

When it comes to advising our clients on how best to progress their career and company profile, we are the experts. However we recognise our own limitations when it comes to the Queen’s honours process and some of the more high profile business awards such as the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, which is why we always instruct Awards Intelligence to handle these on our behalf.

Year on year, AI have created outstanding nominations and applications for our clients, and with their help many of these people have now become the proud recipients of Queen’s honours. Their results for the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have also been exceptional, and we don't hessitate to recommend them to our industry contacts and associates.

WHY SHOULD YOU APPOINT AWARDS INTELLIGENCE?

An Awards Intelligence nomination is special. Not only will we save you a great deal of time and hassle, our experts will significantly increase the nominee's chances of success.

Honours Selection Committees judge a candidate's merits based on the nomination put forward. Our nominations are not simply an extended CV, a list of educational achievements, appointments, awards or posts, or a job description. Poor nominations often list these things, and a frequent complaint from the Committees judging the nominations is that the person recommended is "doing no more than their paid job".

Instead, our nominations define what is special about the candidates' achievements and show accurately, memorably and persuasively exactly how and where they have made a difference.
