Public Sector Sustainability Awards 2014

The deadline for entering the Public Sector Sustainability Awards 2014 is fast approaching – all entries must be received by 31st July 2014. The awards provide the perfect opportunity for public sector bodies of all types to demonstrate environmental leadership.

The task of minimising environmental impact and driving service efficiency is high on the agenda across the public sector. In 2013 there were entries from – as you would imagine – councils, NHS trusts and educational establishments, but there were also entries from museums, the emergency services, government departments and the devolved regional assemblies.

On the back of the Carbon Trust’s annual public sector conference in March, it seems very likely that the themes of that conference will be echoed in this year’s awards. Local area leadership, going from local impact to global impact and curbing costs through resource efficiency. If your organisation has made significant strides in reducing its carbon footprint in the last year then now is the time to tell the world how you did it.
