LGC Awards 2015 – Call for entries
Overview:
In the last few years, local government has faced an unenviable double challenge. Public services needed to be enhanced and cost savings had to be made. Judging by the achievements of last year’s LGC Awards winners, this challenge catalysed some of the most innovative projects, initiatives and strategies. In March 2014, Durham County Council received the LGC Council of the Year Award. Among many impressive achievements the judges were impressed by relations with local businesses, community engagement, support for SMEs and real progress in community asset transfer.
The 2015 edition of the LGC Awards sees the addition of 5 new categories: Housing and Partnership, Driving Efficiency through Technology, Entrepreneurial Council and Environment. These additions provide yet further opportunities for councils to showcase their innovation and ingenuity.
While the LGC Awards are presented to the council as a whole, it is the councils’ employees who are the real recipients of the awards. If you would like to praise and recognise the achievements of your hard-working staff, enter the LGC awards today.
