“I was just hopeless”

Much loved by the British public and sports fans everywhere, Clare Balding has been presented with an OBE  for her outstanding services to broadcasting.

Clare, 42, is famous for her calm and measured approach to sports presenting, no matter how stressful or exciting the event. However, even she wasn’t able to stay completely calm during her investiture ceremony. On meeting Princess Anne, she admits to “fluffing” her curtsey, speaking “gibberish” and and even tripping up the red carpet!

Regardless of these little hiccups in the process however, Clare was absolutely delighted with her gong, which sees her join a long line of high-achieving television and radio broadcasters. Check out the Mail Online for more details of Clare’s big day.
