Don’t dilly-dally with your Queen’s honour nomination…

Just to let you know that January and February traditionally tends to see a substantial increase in Queen’s honour nominations being received by the Cabinet Office due to the publicity surrounding the New Year Honours List. As a result, the waiting period is likely to increase. If you plan to nominate someone, get started now in order to get the nomination in the queue before the inevitable rush.

It usually takes 12-18 months for the Cabinet Office to make a decision so the waiting time is already quite long, without factoring in a seasonal increase in demand for the service.

What’s more, the nominee must still be active in the area for which they are being nominated so don’t dilly-dally and find that they suddenly decide to retire or step down and miss the boat.
