Expert New Year Honours and Birthday Honours Nominations

We will save you valuable time and significantly increase your chances of success. The average success rate is estimated to be just 10% (1 in 10). Our success rate is over 60% (nearly 2 in 3).

Anyone, based anywhere in the world who meets the criteria, can be nominated for a UK Honour such as a BEM, MBE, OBE, CBE or knighthood. You can nominate anyone for an honour if they live or work in the UK or abroad and they’ve made achievements in either:

·         the UK

·         or another country

Nominees who are not British citizens can be given an ‘honorary award’.

Understanding Queen's honours and awards

Want to find out everything there is to know about UK honours direct from the experts? Download our FREE and exclusive Ultimate Guide to Queen's Honours for all the insights you need before you get started.

Before making a nomination, ask yourself the following questions...

Has the nominee:

  • Made a difference to their community or field of work?

  • Brought distinction to British life and enhanced its reputation?
  • Exemplified the best sustained and selfless voluntary service?

  • Demonstrated innovation and entrepreneurship?
  • Carried the respect of their peers?

  • Changed things, with an emphasis on achievement?
  • Improved the lot of those less able to help themselves?

Receiving a Queen’s honour can help your nominee raise awareness of their excellent work, build on their successes and keep giving back to their industry, to society and to the community. So getting them the recognition they deserve is an important task to get right!

  • Do you know someone who may be deserving of a Queen's honour but you don't know if they meet all the right criteria?
  • Do you have a busy life without the spare time to commit to gathering the right evidence and material for such a high-level award?
  • Does your nominee already have an honour but you think they could now be eligible for a higher level nomination?
  • Do you want your nomination to have the best possible chance of success in the Queen's Honours List?

If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions contact us today for all the expert help and guidance you need to ensure your nominee has the best possible chance of Queen's honours success.

Trusted advice from our awards experts

As well as British honours we can also help you to nominate someone for international awards such as Australian or New Zealand honours.

It is important to remember that honours cannot be bought; they are available to all. We do not lobby for honours and the Cabinet Office does not endorse or favour the use of professional drafting services but monitors which nominations have been professionally written and ensures that all nominations received are assessed on an equal and transparent basis.

We therefore ensure that when our experts draft your nomination it is comprehensive, factual and evidence-based. Using our Queen's honours service does not guarantee your nominee an honour, but the depth of research undertaken in putting your nomination together helps the honours committees formulate their decision based upon a thorough, accurate and relevant presentation of the nominee's merits and achievements.

Business Benefits of a Queen's honour

Not only do individuals receive the personal recognition they deserve for their outstanding work and achievements, their businesses benefit too. A Queen’s honour will raise the profile and enhance the reputation of an entrepreneur or business leader which in turn has a positive impact on the business itself.

Listen to our Managing Director, Mark Llewellyn-Slade discussing the business benefits of getting a gong in an interview with Jazz FM. Mark also reveals a  key trend among successful business leaders and entrepreneurs who receive Queen’s honours.

The vast majority of our Queen's honour clients like to remain confidential, however, here's some feedback from a selection of Queen's honour nominators who are happy to wax lyrical about us:

"Just to say I received the nomination you put together. It's just superb - really professionally presented. I can't tell you how grateful I am, it's a great record of his career history. Thank you very much indeed".

"Thanks for drafting such a professional nomination. You offer a truly outstanding service. I'm so glad my wife and I found you before she submitted the nomination. You are a great listener and an excellent writer. You made me sound brilliant"!

"Many thanks to you and your team for helping us to get Mum’s work recognised.  She (and we) had a fabulous day and were delighted that Prince Charles really appeared to know who she was and what she had achieved".

"Just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your team for delivering a fantastic nomination for..... He was delighted to receive an MBE and when I showed him a copy of the nomination he was bowled over. It was the best birthday present I could ever have arranged for my father".

"I knew that my husband deserved an honour but to have got a knighthood was incredible. Thank you so much for all your hard work. The thought of doing it all myself was very daunting and I put it off for years."

Why should you appoint Awards Intelligence?

An Awards Intelligence nomination is special. Not only will we save you a great deal of time and hassle, our experts will significantly increase the nominee's chances of success.

Honours Selection Committees judge a candidate's merits based on the nomination put forward. Our nominations are not simply  an extended CV, a list of educational achievements, appointments, awards or posts, or a job description. Poor nominations often list these things, and a frequent complaint from the Committees judging the nominations is that the person recommended is "doing no more than their paid job".

Instead, our nominations define what is special about the candidates' achievements and show accurately, memorably and persuasively exactly how and where they have made a difference.

An Awards Intelligence nomination doesn't just tell the story of what the nominee has done, it gives real examples of how they have:

  • Contributed in a distinctive way to improving the lot of those less able to help themselves

  • Devoted themselves to sustained and selfless voluntary service

  • Shown innovation or creativity in delivering lasting results

  • Earned the respect of their peers and become a role model in their field

  • Produced, perhaps against the odds, sustained achievement which has required moral courage, vision, the ability to make tough choices or determined application and hard work

Our nominations describe vividly and precisely the difference the nominee's contribution has made; how things were before they began and how they are now. We commit the time to research each nominee's impact and achievements, gathering evidence wherever possible to demonstrate exactly why they deserve a Queen's honour.

Honourees enjoy many benefits

  • Formal recognition at the highest level for the nominee's work and achievements
  • An enhanced profile and reputation

  • Increased awareness of the work the nominee has undertaken

There are two routes by which you can be nominated

  • Nomination by an individual familiar with the work of the candidate e.g. a friend, business contact or family member
  • Nomination by a government department that has identified a candidate doing good work within its sphere of interest

If you want to give someone the best possible chance of receiving recognition for their hard work and achievements, contact us today on +44 (0)1444 230130 or email us at  for a free assessment of their chances of success.
