Mark launched Awards Intelligence in 2007 having identified a need for an organisation which helps people to nominate their friends, family, business and community contacts for Queen’s honours such as an MBE, OBE, CBE or knighthood.
The company also helps individuals to apply to the House of Lords and other high-level public appointments as well as helping companies to find, enter and win business awards.
Mark and his team are widely considered to be leaders in their field having helped more deserving people to get Queen’s honours, peerages and win business awards than anyone else in the world. The average success rate is estimated to be just 10%. Awards Intelligence’s success rate is over 60% (almost 2 in 3).

Mark is a regular media commentator on the Queen’s honour process having appeared on BBC TV News, BBC Breakfast, Sky TV, dozens of national and regional radio stations, as well as in the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, BuzzFeed, CNBC and Global Post to name but a few publications.

Mark’s early career was spent working at a senior level within the PR and Reputation Management field for the international consultancies Weber Shandwick and Bell Pottinger and more recently Llewellyn-Slade PR.
At Weber Shandwick, Mark introduced Interbrew, the then Belgian based second largest brewer in the world, to the UK financial media. He set up and managed a UK press office for Interbrew during its acquisitions of Whitbread and Bass brewers and went on to become global communications coordinator with regard to its IPO. Other clients included Benfield Greg and several divisions Close Brothers Group, who followed Mark to Llewellyn-Slade PR.
While with Bell Pottinger he advised on global issues management and media relations at British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) and the Atomic Energy Authority as well as managing financial and consumer PR activity for Bradford & Bingley. Other clients included Threadneedle Asset Management, Scottish Investment Trust, Barclays Global Investors and Mortgage Intelligence, who followed Mark to Weber Shandwick and then to Llewellyn-Slade PR.
