Covering eleven categories, the e-Government National Awards recognise teams and organisations deploying excellence and technological innovation in the way they communicate and interact with citizens and businesses.
The Awards are open to organisations in local and national Government, the NHS, education and the third sector.
Categories in the competition are: - Building a fairer society with e-Government services - Central e-Government excellence: Take-up and usage growth - Central e-Government excellence: Team - e-Government excellence: Leadership & Professionalism - e-Government excellence: Shared Services - e-Government excellence: Innovation in strategy on a national level - e-Government excellence: Innovation in strategy at a local level - Local e-Government excellence: Take-up & usage growth - Local e-Government excellence: Team - e-Government excellence in Learning & Skills - e-Government excellence: For sustainable, 'green IT' or 'carbon-efficient' services
Government CIO John Suffolk, a veteran judge of all six e-Government National Awards said: “If ever there was a time to celebrate innovation, delivery, success and cross government teamwork, it is now. As the expression goes we need your success stories, so others can copy, learn and adopt. The public sector has a lot to be proud of and these awards give the recognition to the incredibly hard working people behind the projects.”
